Flan pans for fruit flans – in season all year long!
Flan bases are easy to make using a flan pan. What's special about this baking tin is that the finished base is rotated after baking, resulting in an attractive flan base that can then simply be filled.
Create fruit flans yourself using KAISER flan pans
Do you still shy away from baking the flan bases for your fruit flans yourself? If so, let us recommend one of our baking tins! The high-quality KAISER moulds, which are also available in the form of small tartlet pans, have a fluted edge and feature our reliable non-stick coating. Baking tins can also be purchased as springform pans, which make it easy to remove special cakes from our tin-plated moulds in the "Basic" collection. Regardless of which moulds from our assortment you opt for, in the end you will get a cake that not only tastes good but has a base containing all the ingredients of your choice. Fruit flans are a perfect companion to your coffee all year long – they taste sweet and still contain vitamins in the filling. You can use a cake batter or tart pastry for the flan base, and a fruit flan with a biscuit-dough base will also be a hit. And, last but not least, the flexible mould is also suitable for preparing tasty quiches.
The perfect flan base needs the right baking tin and the right technique
For a successful flan base you need a decent baking tin, but with the right technique the base for your fruit flan or any other kind of filled cake will be twice as good. We recommend our flan pans for conventional fruit flans, but it is also possible to use a loose-base baking pan, although this doesn't produce the fluted edge that is characteristic of fruit flans. Our tip for making the perfect base is the blind-baking method. Beans, peas or even chickpeas are placed on top of the base during baking so that the edge rises while the base stays flat and level. The uncooked base is pricked with a fork and covered with baking paper. The pulses are then placed on the paper and will keep the base nice and flat while it is baking. Once the finished base has cooled down the blind filling is replaced with the real filling.
KAISER baking tins – the perfect mould for every cake
The KAISER assortment contains a number of baking tins for baking cakes and tarts. You will find all kinds of designs in our collections, from the Bundt cake pan to the half-round loaf pan. The moulds vary in terms of the material used as well as the shape – our range extends from tin-plated moulds in the "Basic" collection through to elegant and nostalgic enamel moulds from the collection of the same name. Our reliable and functional non-stick coating makes it easy to remove your cakes without them sticking to the pan.
