Use chopsticks and enjoy Asian cuisine like a local
Knives and forks are seldom used in Asian cuisine, chopsticks are preferred instead. In East Asian countries, in particular China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and even Thailand to some extent, locals use two long chopsticks to pick up food and carry it to their mouth. Depending on the type of food, larger pieces are gripped between the ends of the chopsticks or both chopsticks are used together to "shovel" the food while bringing the plate or bowl up to the mouth. With the original WMF chopsticks you can enjoy Asian cuisine in its original form.
Chopsticks: using them the right way makes all the difference
At first glance, chopsticks are a little like elongated sticks that taper from the handle towards the end. This means there are no real points to pierce your food with. What you do instead is place them in your hands in such a way that the food is clamped between the two chopsticks. One chopstick should be held in the bend between the thumb and index finger and the other between the index and middle fingers. While the first chopstick does not move, the second is used to pick up the food. It may be awkward at first, but once you've got the hang of the technique, eating with chopsticks is just as easy as using a knife and fork.
In some parts of Asia, for example in Korea, chopsticks are used together with spoons that have a specially rounded bowl, making it easier to eat soups and sauces.
