The oldest pasta recipe in the world was created in China 4000 years ago. Pasta has been known in Germany for around 400 years – the traditional Swabian spaetzle remain a German favourite today. Because of this, the WMF spaetzle press now forms part of our assortment. Pasta doesn't need to be homemade for it to taste good, but it's all about the right pasta pot and the right way of preparing it. You know that pasta is just right when it is "al dente", a little bit soft on the outside but firm to the bite on the inside. The ideal pasta pot is tall and has a large enough capacity to hold pasta and the water to boil it in. The basic rule is that the pot should only be filled two-thirds of the way to the top. Our pots made from rust-proof Cromargan® stainless steel have a stand ring so that the water does not boil over. The pasta is cooked in the allocated amount of time and then drained through a colander. And last of all it is time to serve and eat it – bon appetit!
