WMF stock pots for preparing vegetables the gentle way
WMF stock pots – gentle steaming keeps the nutrition where you want it
To make sure that you don't lose those all-important vitamins, minerals and trace minerals when steaming vegetables it is extra important to get the preparation right. The WMF stock pots are the perfect companion for cooking a wide range of vegetables.
The matching pot for each type of vegetable
Crunchy, fresh vegetables should be a regular part of any healthy diet. You should pay particular attention to preparing vegetables carefully. Stock pots are designed in a similar way to normal high casseroles but are slightly higher, at around 17 or 18 cm. In our online shop you can find models with diameters of 20, 24 and 28 cm, so that you can equip yourself for all manner of culinary challenges. This gives the stock pots a volume of 5 l to 8.8 l, putting them ahead of the high casseroles. Therefore it's not just vegetable dishes that can be cooked in stock pots but also soups and other dishes that are cooked with a lot of liquid.
Gentle cooking in WMF stock pots
Because the lid is easy to close it is quite simple to gently steam vegetables in the stock pot. Add just a little water and cook healthy natural ingredients without losing the valuable minerals, because the steam doesn't escape from the pot. At the same time, the bright and tasty-looking colours of the vegetables remain intact. Or you could prepare vegetable dishes the Mediterranean way – bake the vegetables in the pot first, close the lid and let them cook in their own juices. It's about the healthiest way there is to prepare vegetables.
A special use for your WMF stock pot: soup, meat and fish
Even though stock pots were designed to cook vegetables, they have a wide range of other uses in everyday cooking. They are perfectly designed for boiling meat or bones to produce genuine chicken stock or a fine cream of vegetable soup. They are also more suited to certain types of vegetable like asparagus that are cooked 'en masse' than a low or high casserole, for example. Even more substantial meat, fish or poultry dishes and hearty stews are comfortable cooking in our robust stock pots.
WMF stock pots are available in a number of collections such as Diadem Plus, Premium One or Function 4 in their customary elegant and modern design. You can depend on our easy to maintain Cromargan® stainless steel 18/10. Have a look through our range and find yourself a new WMF stock pot, also suitable for induction hobs!
