Red mullets on a bed of salt and lemon

  • 8 Small red mullets, gutted
  • 2 tbsp. Olive oil
  • 3 Organic lemons
  • 3 sprigs Fresh oregano
  • 900 g Coarse salt
  • Black pepper coarsely ground

Preparation

Step 1
Wash, salt and pepper the gutted red mullets.

Step 2
Stuff each with 1 slice of lemon and some oregano and drizzle with olive oil. Spread the salt about 0.5 cm thick. Spread a thin slice of lemon loosely on top and place the red mullets on the bed of salt.

Step 3
Bake in the oven at 200° for about 10-15 minutes.
Step 4
Serve with a fresh salad of ruccola and tomatoes and white Italian bread.
